anyone remember the greatest dunk of all-time?
vince carter dunks OVER a 7'2" guy.
- Momentum20
refs just owed kobe an uncalled foul last game when he got the bumb on his head!
GO LAKERRRS
- Nac_part20
questionable on the offensive foul because from what i remember the official said nashs right foot was still moving as kobe began to take off...
...doesn't matter much though.. remember in Game 1 when Kobe didn't get a call at the end when Tim Thomas slapped him in the face? Tim Thomas even admitted to hitting Kobe accidentally, and said it should have been a foul..
My Lakers are coming back, they may have lost the first game, but tempo wise they have controlled it the whole time.

who cares.
basketball is wanks.

kobe was def. in the air before nash was set. So much for the MVP who can't play defense, but gets the chance to make the highlights and a poster of him getting run over.
- Antonelli0
That's a dumb way to think about it - like they "owed" Kobe a non-call from a previous game. You could go on forever with that argument. The ref just got caught up in the moment.

Antonelli ... from Phoenix.
Thanks for your two cents, haha.
- Nac_part20
haha, i will make sure to send him the poster of kobe dunking once i get it....
i hate all the mvp gibberish....
nash this...lebron that...
yes the suns don't have amare....but they do have 2 all stars...in recent weeks shawn marion had even been whining about not getting any votes for mvp....
he sure looked like it last night didnt he?
- Antonelli0
flav,
I am the most unbiased person you'll find. I actually love Kobe.
And Marion would not be an all-star without Nash.
Anyway, it doesn't matter. Spurs or Pistons will take it all. BORRRINNNGG.
- Nac_part20
i agree...as much as I love the Lakers...
Pistons in the end..
but I can always pray
- studderine0
the lakers will lose the series. they do not have the depth the suns have. kobe is their hope, and kobe is all talk. suns to the western conf. finals.

-----------------depth?
the suns bench scored 4 points last night... the lakers bench had 21a ton of depth there..(that was sarcasm, in case you didn't notice)
plus I think thats pretty bad to say Kobe is all talk...
Nash may be MVP but in 10 years...who are you gonna remember more for their incredible year? Nash getting MVP? or what Kobe did the whole season... like 81? 62?
Yea...i knew you would say Kobe...its ok though... i still love you ...smooches!!!
- studderine0
bad night for the suns bench...who do the lakes have...lamar odom...suckage!
- fliplike90
its just not safe to talk about depth between these 2 teams after last night. 21 - 4 bench points? c'mon dude. The Suns don't know how to play defense, and they don't have an inside game. All the championship teams have an inside game. They are going to get worn down. Nash might be MVP, but everyone knows that the league isn't going to vote Kobe because of the rape issue he had in the past. NBA won't have that representing the league. They'll go for the clean cut canadian bacon.
Lakers in 6.
- Nac_part20
well said flip...
and it wasn't a bad night for the suns,...it just shows they aren't cutting under playoff intensity... Nash's magic maybe able to work for them during the regular season... but negating whatever has happened during the regular season... this is a new season.
Plus Kobe has done this before..
how many rings does Kobe have behind him?
how about nash?
again, we all know Kobe is the more complete player... Kobe can start 'passing' whenever he wants and get a lod of assists...its just this year thats not what the Lakers needed. They needed him to score. I don't think Nash can score at will like Kobe.
At the end of the game, if you need a big shot made, youre not going to look for Nash to make it, You will be asking for Kobe... even alot of the 'analysts' are starting to sway from MJ....Kobe has been the difference maker.
Next everyone is going to say it was because of shaq all those years with the Lakers, and in a way, its true, but Shaq couldn't have done it without Kobe. Then everyone started to whine about the Lakers keeping Kobe over Shaq...
Last I heard the Diesel is slowing down a bit....only playing like...50 something games this year, and averaging like 20 points?
The Lakers needed Kobe, muceh more than they need Shaq. Shaq can't carry a team like Kobe is proving he can.
- studderine0
once again, the lakers had the suns on the ropes and gave up the lead. lakers only won by 6 points. nash is obviously a better point guard than kobe will ever be. kobe may be more complete, but the rings he won were not his doing..the first ring he won he barely played. i think the lakers are a good team, but too much weight is placed on kobe.
- Nac_part20
Kobe barely played when he won his rings? through out the 3 championship runs Kobe had averaged 45 minutes a game....
so funny..
the Lakers got the W in game 2 thats all that matters, tell me you weren't sweating in game 1 when the Lakers came this close to winning that one too. Imagine if Kobe hit 3 of the shots they had missed, the Lakers would be 2-0.
Plus Kobe isn't a point gaurd, that isn't his position, so he isn't the facilitator. But I know people would build a team around Kobe in an instant, quicker than they would build one around a 32 year old Nash...
I can give you a good example...guess who they built the next Team USA around?
Kobe can handle the pressure, we have faith in him, and if people like Lamar Odom keeps making people like Marion look like a fool like he has so far in this series. We will be fine.

Enter response:
spoken like a true Lakers fan there Nac...
... caught up in the glamour known as being a 'Laker Fan' and failing to be logical...
... Kobe is good... Nash is good...
... both are GREAT... but Kobe is NOT a person to build a team around... what about all the talk about people be worried that Kobe and his new coach wouldn't get along?
You'd NEVER here something like that about Nash who just so happens to be as talented a player - just not in the show-boat flying fuckTard manner that people seem to deem as 'talent'...
... Nash deserved the MVP last year... and even more so this year - His overall stats for 'assiting' are what make him MVP... same w/Larry Bird back in the day.
... and that was a horrid foul - whoever commented on 'standing around' early in this thread should probably bow-out as that is part of the 'rules' of this game which make it an 'organized' game.
But once again - as it with many things (*cough *cough .. Illegal Immigration *cough *cough) we tend to get caught up in the emotion and forget that there's an underlying logic to the whole thing which makes it 'organized' and 'structured'.
woah... Politics and B-ball? sorry!
- fliplike90
Wow! This thread is getting personal...
I'm just gonna say this, as a person from the east coast that migrated to the west. Kobe is probably the best basketball player I've ever seen. With all the hype and commotion that he generates, about 98% of that, he backs it up with the way he plays. And the media loves him, controversy loves him, and everyone wants to see him burn in flames. Nobody will write stories about Nash, or Merion, or whoever else. You know why? Because there's nobody else in the NBA that can magnify his kind of status, the way he is doing it. And everyone else is just playa hatin, just let it all in... the man is a star whether you like or not. And if all of the sports community crowns him as the best player in basketball. Then so be it.... phew....
