Not sure if this is considered one or not.
I had a friend of about 3 years cheat on his wife of 18 years while we were in Vegas quite a few years ago. When we came back he continued cheating on her for about 3 months until she found out... or at least suspected when a woman called his phone looking for him.
He sent me a quick email asking if I would take the heat saying that I actually met the girl, told her my name was his and told her to communicate with me through his phone as I had a girlfriend (of less than 5 months).
So I did. I took the wrap for him and of course his wife told my girlfriend I was cheating on her, and yes, we broke up.
He took the experience as a lesson and now their marriage has never been stronger, and he hasn't cheated since. But I lost a gf over it to save his sorry ass.
:(
But actually it's ok as I found my soul mate and am getting married later this year, so in the end it all worked out.

sorry but that just counts as being an idiot. Being a doormat for someone who has been cheating on his wife of 18 years can only be classed as such.
least it worked out for you somehow

Why didn't you tell your friend to "sleep in the bed he made?"
I think it's becuase you didn't want to deal with the pain of seeing you frined hurt. It would have been much more tramatic for you to see your friends relationship get ripped to shreds. So ultimately you still served your own interests by taking the rap...

ok, dig this.
you have horrible, horrible gas.
you are in the elevator.
you have to pass gas really bad. like, so bad it hurts. but you dont.
you wait till youre back at your misrable little two-toned brown cubicle. you pass the gass there.it reeks, but only you have to deal with it.

flavorful. then you really are the 'creepy guy', haha.

Hmm... you have a point, haha.
- flavorful0
kOna ... dear Lord, you are the best friend any guy could ever have.
That's like above and beyond the guy code.
I'm actually impressed.
- mpfree0

oh, forgot to mention to rasko4 and zoiks. This gentleman was a complete steroid freak who really... I was scared shitless of. haha.

Wow, k0na, that's pretty amazing.
I think I would've done the same thing, but only if I had known that the person I was with wasn't the one for me, and if my friend really was someone I would still be friends with in the long run. B/c I've had a few people turn their back on me in the past.
In your case you may have subconsciously known the girl wasn't right for you, but it was still pretty awesome since I can only imagine what other people said about you after the incident.
Just curious...Are you taking the secret to your grave, (so to speak)?
- mpfree0
He was probably shooting METHYL 1-TESTOSTERONE aka M1T

Thanks flavorful and Jaline.
She was definitely not for me in the long run, but we had a lot of fun in the short 5 months we were together, and, one of her friends had a hot tub and always had hot tub parties that ended with everyone being nude.
Good times. WAAY in the past.

the fact that there is no such thing as a selfless act is fine by me.
what beats a situation where /everyone/ is better off?
- brooke0
I think truly selfless acts are done without premeditation. For example, you rush to help someone in a burning building. You don't think about anything, not even how it will make you feel having rescued someone.
Kind acts are different. Usually I do nice things for people being fully aware that I will feel better about myself afterwards.
Know what I mean, Vern?

no

that was pretty selfless.

(Apr 27 06, 08:01)became national hero, most likely had a parade in his name, if not a day named after him, i mean he is the one that stayed on board to save the PLANET
totally not selfless

One of my buddies was once walking past a drowning man in the Chicago river. He was like 'OMG I'd give my right arm to save that guy' and jumped in.
We now call him 'lefty'.
And the drowning dude was dead.
And it was a black plastic bag of dead puppies.
Pretty self-less though.
