Uh, I don't think netflix is owned by Wal-Mart...
Wal-Mart were doing their own DVD rental thing weren't they?

--------------------------Couldn't say. I just remember reading somewhere (maybe here) or hearing about the two are connected. Does anyone here know for sure?

you should look into blockbuster because they dont fuck over customers who rent more frequently there were so many articles even mentioned on one of those 60 minutes 20/20 how they bump down customers who are using there accounts to the fullest... netflix was cool when it first came out not anymore.plus i read on pvrwire.com tivo and blockbuster might be doing a video on demand which was suppose to be done with netflix but then they didnt want to do it. I cant wait till something like that happens downloading movies to my tivo would be awsome over waiting for them to arrive in the mail.

twoismtwosim,
That TiVo thing sounds incredible.
I'll look into Blockbuster and Netflix the next 2 weeks. I'm leaning towards Blockbuster already...

Netflix has a service that sends you an email anytime one of your friends rents something with Sara Michelle Gellar in it, and advises you to kill them within 24 hours, no questions asked.

BTW, bet you didn't know her name was Sara Michelle Houlihan before changing it to Gellar simply to keep the syllables even.

Wall Mart tried an online subscrition program and then sold all their subscriptions to Netflicks. Ill have to try out that www.greencine.com!

(Apr 21 06, 10:25)Wow, what a great last name too.
Makes sense though.
I'd have to change my name if I went into Hollywood...

I meant to say: Why I *didn't* join years ago baffles me.
I love it - they need to expand some categories, but it's great.
greencine looks like it has a good selection.

Yeah, I'm a Netflix fiend...watch about 12-15 movies a month. Cool thing is you can get some pretty obscure stuff and since it's unlimited, you can be risky in your picks.

I have my acct. set at 4-at-a-time, so I always have a movie or 2 at home to watch. quit your bitchin' pussies.

For what it's worth, I joined two months back and it has been really great, actually. They get the DVDs i mail back within 24 hours and send new ones pretty quickly...total turnaround is consistently 48 hours or less.
I'm just saying, is all...but I am still new. Hmmm...
- tenpointtwo0
they only throttle people on high demand DVDs. New releases, basically.

I am in the process of doing the complete criterion collection with netflix. I started with 1 and now on 186 today, I am on there max of 8 at a time, I average 16 movies a week.
There is never a wait for any of my movies, becuase I dont get lame hollywood movies.
I do all full quality backups with Imgburn on 8.5 dvds, and I use a thermal printer to label the blank dvds with "The Criterion Collection". Then place them in paper sleeves with printed lables attached with the cover art and movie details printed on them.
I have even made a place to view all the cover art,
and have plans to make a elaborate way to help choose the perfect criterion
Im thinking of getting blockbuster also, so I can get the whole collection before I move back to London... once my duel citizenship is completed, because criterions are only avail in the states.
