so i just got the ipod video, dragged some videos into itues, and dragged them from their onto the ipod. i got an error saying the files couldn't be transferred.
wrong kind or something.
they are .mpg's.
what's going on here, do i have to convert them somehow to a certain size or something?
if so, what do i use to do it?
thanks

search versiontracker.com and find some video>iPod converters. QuickTime pro does the job but it's slow.

Appears to be built in to iTunes?
See the iTunes Help menu...1.Select the video in the iTunes library.
2.Choose Advanced > "Convert Selection for iPod."
When you convert a video to work with iPod, the original video remains in your iTunes library. You may continue to see the message saying a video can't play on your iPod.
For more detailed information on converting and copying videos to an iPod, go to http://docs.info.apple.com/artic….
(I would hate to be the guy who creates the help system.. nobody ever uses it...)

obviously, its going to like .mov files much better.
.wmv's might also suffice
