did you write off everything under the sun?
- jevad0
squire - I did not. I should have learned my lesson from last year..alas I did not. I am still trying to understand how american taxes work...quite unsuccessfully.
My approach for the coming year is three fold:
1. Set myself up as an LLC
2. Save every goddam reciept I can
3. Write off everything possible.bah.

write off part of your house, car, cell phone, internet, meals, books, mags, cds, office supplies, etc.
that's what freelancing is all about. Do you do your own taxes?
- jevad0
I wouldn't consider myself a freelancer - I just do work on the side...nothing too big.
No I don't...jesus hell no I don't do my own taxes....are you kidding me?
- kyl30
Even if you just do a little bit on the side, you should at least write off enough to zero your earnings from freelance, or show just the slightest profit. You can show a lose for like 3 years or so without raising any eyebrows.
