i have heard great things about Austin. After all, within the city limits, county-wise, it voted for Kerry.
Austin and San Antonio, good places from what i've heard.
sorry, nothing on ISP's and the like here...

yeah same here, you can get the usual cable/phone/RR in a package for around 140 and avoid different providers.

I know you all are fu**ing around, but have any of you ever been to Austin? And have any of you ever met a Mexican and had a real conversation?
Great city, liberal, young, fantastic art and music scene. You'll have a great time down there Dann.
What's with all the stupid ignorant comments?

I lived in Austin for 10 years and just moved away from there. It's a great place, but don't bother going anywhere else in Texas. The rest of the state pretty much sucks.
I had Time Warner also, and had no problems. As far a cell companies, I think they passed legislation saying they must suck everywhere.
As far as population ... I think the metro area has somewhere around 1.5 million.

wow - lot of hate for mexicans.
anyway, dann, i know you have plenty already but "here goes":
As stated before, Time Warner is good for all services (voip, cable, isp). There's alao a local (Texas) fledgling company called Grande. They do the same for a little less. They aren't available everywhere, so you'll have to find out if they're in your neigborhood.
I've had both Cingular and Sprint wireless. They have pretty much the same coverage and customer service. One might have more towers or something, but, in my experience -- same.
Get ready for some great shows. I'm in San Antonio; about one hour south of Austin. I make almost weekly treks up there for music.
We must have an Austin/S.A. NT meetup.
Cheers.

i lived in austin way too long as well. it's a very quiet little town of about 600k people with cheap, horrible weed and dive bars you can get dollar beers at. it's hella hot there, you'll spend most of your free time eating and drinking and sweating like a mother...
all the Mexicans live on the east side of the highway or have been booted out and moved to Toronto (no joke). and the food is way better on the east side as well... go figure.
the music is either country or western and some emocore, and garage bands. though it all sounds a bit like country...
the weather is hot, hot, hot.
the coolest places to go are swimming in San Marcos or tubing Greene or the outdoor movies in Wimberly or San Antonio
what used to be the best place to work by far is GSD&M advertising- i would sign up as freelancer there asap. maybe try FROG if there doing any business there.
best of luck!

i once shot a man in texas
just to watch him die.

you're landlord is supposed to give you a "don't mess with texas" bumper sticker on your move in day. if they don't, report him to the police and they'll fry the bastard in the electric chair within 5 business days.

As stated before, Time Warner is good for all services (voip, cable, isp). There's alao a local (Texas) fledgling company called Grande.
---I used to have a company called Grande while in SA and their service and speed was slower than Time Warner, Time warner is partnered with RR so you will get RR automaticly and so far I havent had any problems with it, just at the begining I think some one was chomping out of my wireless until i made it private. now speed is great.
- fusionpixel0
actually they cut the time frame lower, they have 2 days to give you the sticker or else..
- dann0
a bad ass sticker..... not a bad deal
I hope i get to watch him fry if he doesnt give it to me on time lol
thx everyone for all the help, the more the better
