i still think the the relationship between notes and by nanette is off....latter is a bit big.
if i remember right you said it was was a high end shop...the color and type treatment is not sophisticated enough. sorry man, not being an ass just trying to help.
paerhaps try using didot or tiffany for the notes part.

you need to set the corners of your lines to rounded or bevel unless the devil horns on the O are intentional which I doubt. Better still expand the stroke and create a compound path cos you dont want final logo's to use stroke with set thicknesses.

rasko4, good point. truth is, i hate illustrator so much that i make my ideas in photoshop cause it's faster for me and then i'll recreate the final one in illustrator. in this case, without the "horns". lame, i know.

i cannot possibly imagine how it would be easier to manipulate basic shapes in photoshop. you need to get to grips with illy, it will be so much easier and more flexible in the end!
