What would be a good CMS to use for a band website? I have looked into WordPress and Textpattern but can't figure out how to get them to do what I want.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

ive made a few simple ones for bands basically, news, shows, links, biography update the basics.
you can see some of them there. You can customize the look. I can show you a demo if you like i think i have one already made.

I've given a couple of bands a dodgy copy of contribute to use, and they find it really easy....

I coded up a band CMS to run www.fourtet.net and a few other band sites... just say if you want a look and I'll sort you out a demo...

prolly wont release it. I wrote it in conjunction with some of dreamweaver's automated processes. So I only know what 75% of the code does and the rest dreamweaver put it. All I know is how to dupkicate it but I'm not sure how I would go about making a simple CMS system to distro. maybe I'll look into it.

hiten - would you mind sharing where you got some of that info out of dreamweaver?
also, my recommendation is super simple: http://www.google.com/search?q=s…

I own this book, basically just did the first little bit of it and used the cdrom it came with then the TOC to find the parts I needed. Didn't go through the whole book just the chapters I needed as I needed them. I also had no previous knowledge of PHP. It's basically dreamweaver point and click. Once you know how to do it with PHP its the same steps if you want it in ASP, dreamweaver writes the code for you. I still basically have no clue how to write PHP code. The book doesn't teach php it shows you how to use dreamweaver to generate the php for the CMS. It's not the best idea but its quick and works. Here's a link to the book.

if anyone has a super simple up and running i would love to check it out too. i have always been currious about it but too lazy to install it.
