Everything, the management here is absurd with what they feel is our responsibility...
+ Design
+ Guiding others [juniors/int.]
+ Leadership
+ Proofing
+ meetings
+ dealing with vendors
+ scrubbing toilets
+ etc.

well basicly i just took a senior level job and i was wondering how its similar in duties with other senior level designers as i am not in web or print or animation.
for my end i will be responsible for a large urban brand of mens and womens accessories. my categories of design will be mens backpacks and messengers, belts and hardware development, womens handbags and soft leather goods, belts and hardware.
i must concept all the collections and design the entire line, i am responsible for the direction of the brand as well as meeting with all the buyers and developing my line in overseas factories in Asia.
i will oversee a design team and lead all the meetings. all approvals must filter thru me as well.
it sounds very similar to what snuggles is going with too.

which company e-pill? :)
- mr_snuggles0
what are you saying honest?
I'm sorry but proof-reading should not be my responsibility..mark it up, then I'll look at it, but I don't have time to proof anything over 100 pages...
Maybe I should've mentioned that I only make like 35 - 40,000€ a year...
- Pesh0
I spend most of my day drinking tea (made by the juniors) eating cake (bought by the juniors)
oh what a life

i learned to not drop the name of the company as i now know that my competitors are lurkers on NT and i found out in a not so pretty way as well.
there are certain NT lurkers that dont need to know where i am working.

(Apr 6 06, 07:45)I make 28K a year and work in a chinese take away in the weekends to make ends meet as my wife is unemployed. I answer the phone, I sign for packages, I go to meetings with clients and do everything on a project from start to finish. I don't see it as hard work, I see it as training for when I have my own company to run. I've never done a day's work because I enjoy what I do. Now get back to work and quit whinining.
- e-pill0
training on someone else's dollar is exactly how i see my current job as well, until i have my own company. i love my work and i love the product i create. it is very rewarding walking around the world seeing people with my bags on them.
i look forward to the day that i will have my own place in this community.
:)
- madirish0
totally understand e-pill. i know how that can go as well.
good luck and congratulations!
- mr_snuggles0
way to go honest, you are a true inspiration to us all...
- e-pill0
thanks madirish!
-i agree with snuggles
honest you are a great man standing by your wife and doing everything in your power for her, that is a lot of sacrifice and it is very honorable.
good things will come your way!!! believe it!!!!
:)

I think you've got an awful lot of responsibility there mate, and if you're hating your job (which happens, btw, quite a lot actually, regardless of whether you're nominaly doing the thing you love) can't make it any easier to graft away, hope you find a new job soon snuggs...

good luck with the job e-pill!
