"Does this just mean that, moving forward, there is even LESS reason for websites and software makers to program for OSX?"
Just posting a comment from another board. Thoughts?

This mean virus for mac everywhere..
I thinks this is great for pc users, great for apple, but something tells me that regular apple users are going to have some problems coming up.

When is Dell launching Native OS X on their computers, now that would totally erase apple from the map.

Atleast flash would run properly on it.

Um, this is whack:
"During installation, the Windows XP installer asks me to format the Windows partition using NTFS or FAT. Which should I use?
If the partition is 32 GB or smaller, you can use either FAT or NTFS. If it's larger than 32 GB, then you can only format it using NTFS. Mac OS X can read and write FAT volumes, but only read NTFS volumes. Refer to the Windows XP documentation if you are not sure which best suits your needs. "

and microsoft has a nice % of apple... so it doesn't matter... windows dominance will be around for decades unless someone comes up with something revolutionary....
all I know is that.... I wouldn't mess with that .... if you are a mac person...you have no idea what you are getting yourself into when you load up a pc...
patches and glitches and just overall a buggy system ... conflicts upon conflicts..and the best thing for you to do ...is only have 2-3 programs open at once to insure that everything can work together properly

windows needs a rewrite led by the greatest computer scientists ever assembled. it also needs some decent widgets.
- liquid0
the processors and ram and video that you guys have would rock games......
actually I would love to know how well photoshop renders on mac hardware but with PC OS and PC software....
wouldn't there be a problem because a lot of software is built on the intel chipset...
- liquid0
rewrite by google
and widgets by konfabulator

as long as the developers developers developers developers are happy to supply windows with decent third party software, and avoids a google flavored linux...

I don't get why some people get so shitty about this... I can't see the problem in wanted the sleek designs of a mac laptop (never seen a really nice PC laptop) with a mac on it, and a pc on it? Sounds genius to me... and I reckon a lot more Macs will get sold because of it. Think I'm going to wait til the next bunch of Macs come out though

I think I'd prefer Virtual PC for testing... both browsers on screen at once for comparison, no rebooting..
but I'll still use this... currently use RDC on my MacBookPro to run remote sessions on a PC when I want to test in Windows... this will be a little faster..

I think this is a cool and useful idea - I kind of wish Apple had struck a deal with AMD rather than Intel though, the chips are better and faster and the company has been continualy F'ed over by Intel from the start. Apple+AMD would be really cool imo...
