Try turning off prefetching:Open "about:config" and scroll down to "network.prefetch-next" and double click the line so the value on the right says "false".
about 80% less memory usage for me

Go to about:config, create a new integer browser.cache.memory .capacity which will limit RAM cache to the specified value (in kilobytes). Restart browser to see its effect. After doing this, the memory usage also seems to drop considerably by minimizing the firefox window...

ff doesnt work on pc for some reason. strange

instead of blaming teh software blame the platform. browsing net on Mac (any Mac) is just painfull. The spining whele pops up left and right (both Safari and Firefox) and shit. As much as i hate Bill Gates he got the net right (if only not the spyware...).

I unfortunately have that damned quality feedback agent pop up every once in a while....I seem to have installed it and didnt realize it.....
the best part is that it crashes whenever I try to cancel the feedback thing..... lovely.....just lovely....

FF definately is gay, but not in a 'Queer eye' way. Certainly not like that 'Ted' one, he's great.
If you look in your Registry, you can see some very dodgy HKEYS in there for, amongst other things, big moustache creating programs, tight leather shorts and tickets for a 'gentleman's cruise in the Bahamas.
