The other day when over 100,000 people clogged the freakin' downtown streets here - what the HELL WHERE THEY PROTESTING or DEMONSTRATING about?!!
They came here ILLEGALLY - oy vey... what don't you get about that?!!! This isn't a racist/social issue AT ALL... IT'S A MATTER OF SECURITY AND RULES.
Good God... I'm utterly confused at how fucking twisted this is!! Since everyone's talking about Mexico specifically... is it fair that they get free passes when all the rest of the world seems to follow the rules more closely?
I... IN ALL HONESTY... have more LEGAL immigrant friends in my life than I do Natural Born American citizens... AND THEY ALL THINK IT'S FUCKED that people come into this country illegally.

Ponyboy. In the article I posted above about Chicago and other cities cracking down on businesses that hire illegal aliens, it also was on the news that after the illegals were arrested a large group of people were protesting outside of the detention center. Why?!?... they were protesting against the ILLEGAL aliens being arrested for working ILLEGALLY and being sent back to Mexico. WHAT!?! Are you kidding me? They were not protesting against the business for hiring them... ILLEGALLY, they were not protesting against the ILLEGAL aliens working ILLEGALLY... they were protesting against the POLICE who arrested them LEGALLY.

i never intimated that illegal migration was an appropriate thing to do. i just think that it speaks volumes about the one-sided nature of the debate that somehow the country of origin and whether or not it's classed as economically viable in your eyes should end up being the key factor in the way that you feel about immigration to the states, effectively putting the argument on a case-by-case playing field, which is what the uk is attempting to do at the moment, dividing immigrants into two classes; desirable and undesirable.
and, yes, thinman, i am an immigrant. i happen to be a legal one, and in this country what they would class as a desirable one, but even as a legal immigrant, i have chosen to live with fewer rights than the native population has. that's a choice i've made so that i can have a better life and never, ever have to return to the corrupt, diseased, obese and souless country where i was born.
