as a house is built it takes up particular structure, this form is symbolically repersented in architect diagrams, this process started in the mind, the form cannot be understood by analysing the house, the blue prints nor the architexrt brain.....can someone explain this to me....

1st post.

yes. can you help, or send me to more info?
- tomkat0
what are you talking about..?
- urbanist90
john frazer, report..on EA..

it makes no sense....
if the diagrams started in an architect's mind, then it it should be understood when you ask the architect.but that reminds me of Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander. He wrote a lot about the nature of order.

"the form cannot be understood by analysing the house, "
I am not sure what you are talking about? Translation problems?
Not sure what you mean by diagrams, either. Diagrams can be abstract elements we use to begin the conceptual process, understand studies, explore relationships, etc.
Or
they can by drawings showing how something worksEitherway, though, a diagram is useless if there is no explanation or reasoning behind it. In order to design well, you need to understand the process that is involved, from the first idea through the final form (form is 'real', it is 'space', and it is 'building').
Most architects, I'd venture about 90% of them, don't critically look at their own process - just one reason why our landscape of crap buildings grows by the second.

yes agree, architects the most modern, still lost in the form...and neglet function...its all about they ego...im am now reseacher...paolo soleri...and his concept on the "the city in the image of man" do you know...plaes keep the chat gooing...
- urbanist90
i see the work of paolo soleri as the practical anwser to EA...even thou he deals with progressive architecture...but still complex structure that are hard to constructed in are modern citys....he work in arizona has been going on for 30 years but still very incomplete
- tkmeister0
paolo's work is the anser to EA?
you must be joking.
- urbanist90
ok, im am new to this work..both EA and progressive arcitecture....my point if how do start to use EA in are cities....i understand progressive arch..is a step forward?

no idea.. it doesn't make much sense does it. Sure the form can be understood by looking at those things. Perhaps they mean the person of the architect vs. just his brain is the true source?
However, there would be a lot of contractors who'd certainly have operational wisdom abut the house as well.

WE build for demand...because of this demand we forget about the function...replace with form which usally gives no identity to the people who inhadit the space...which creat a list of socail problems....so how can EA and PA be implimented now....to make a urban ideal?
- tkmeister0
urbanist,
are you an architect?there are so many architects design for function. good examples are Rem Koolhaus and MVRDV. their strategy is based on the research and case studies of various urban enviornment and living conditions.
- urbanist90
No i am not a architect...
I am a moving image design, recently doing project on massive change with bru mau.....looking at interconnectivity in urban life....now working with tom dickins....professor at LSE london...tom dickin is workin on EA...
- urbanist90
so i opened up this chat to live and learn!
- tkmeister0
if you did stuff for mau, you should know all abou rem.
also, there are way too many theorists who talks about it and never build shit. i think urban design/master planning is very challenging. especially since there's so much politics involved.
i know this because i used to do master planning.
- urbanist90
yes,,i known rem
i should explan myself better..i am a young design with no interest in commercail world...after reading bru mau...paolo soleri...darwin..i find what my ineterest are....so i started producing information design explain theroies as i think ther is a lack of good design in science.....this has given me the chance to meet some interesting people...
