I am not sure what you are talking about? Translation problems?
Not sure what you mean by diagrams, either. Diagrams can be abstract elements we use to begin the conceptual process, understand studies, explore relationships, etc.

they can by drawings showing how something worksEitherway, though, a diagram is useless if there is no explanation or reasoning behind it. In order to design well, you need to understand the process that is involved, from the first idea through the final form (form is 'real', it is 'space', and it is 'building').
Most architects, I'd venture about 90% of them, don't critically look at their own process - just one reason why our landscape of crap buildings grows by the second.
