Never been there and headed there tomorrow for a few days with the wife and kid (3yr old).
I've read the other Mexico thread but was wondering if I could get any recommendations on specific places to eat, sites to see, etc.
We're staying in Zona Rosa, not far from Chapultepec Park. Thanks!

the museum of anthropology is absolutely amazing and not to be missed.
well, you won't be able to miss it really, it's right where you're staying.

Since you're staying near the chapultepec park, you should not miss it. There is also a historic castle right in there and of course the museum of anthopology. There is also a zoo, a botanic garden(?), a museum for children called "el papalote" which means "kite" among other things there.
If you are willing to get out of the city a bit to see some pyramids and ruins then you should go to teotihuacan. it is not a town or anything, it's just an ancient city located about 1 hour from mexico city.
Polanco can be a good place for shopping. There's probably a couple of shopping centres in there and places frequented by people who have money.
At night if you can drive thru "El Paseo de la Reforma" which is just an 12km boulevard would be cool, because there's alot of lights in that area. on one side you have the chapultepec and on the other luxury hotels, hard rock cafe, tons of embassies and consulates, banks, good architecture, goo drestaurants and of course...."the angel of independence" which is where mexican go to celebrate (eventhought they block traffic) when the national soccer team wins something.
You also good professional soccer that's still a family activity unlike in other countries where it can get violent. There's supposed to be a place like sea world somewhere but can't rememebr where.
As to place to eat, well it's extremely hard to mention places because there is so much good food in mexico.Check this sites for more info

They should give quite a bit of useful information
enjoy your trip, don't drink water from tap, don't buy food from street vendors and don't stay in your hotel.

Was just there last year.
the modern museum in the park is cool(forgot the name)
Frieda's and diegos museums were closed the day we tried(labor day) but you shoud try to see them.
Take the bus/cabs vs driving, there are very few street signs and getting lost is very easy.

Thanks! I'm checking out those links now.
Teotihuacan sounds great, I'll have to see if we have time to work it into our trip. We'll be in Mexico City for a few days and then we head up a few hours to San Miguel de Allende for some R&R.
