if you want my work, and if you want to see my work....you have to trust me as a person first.

(Mar 15 06, 06:27)If I was drinking something while I read that entire lenghty post, it would have been splattered all across my screen spewing forth from my nose and mouth.
Congratulations, you're ridiculous.

you should tell your art director about putting a telephone number on a site might be a start... even print designers are doing that i hear

(Mar 15 06, 06:29)Hmmm, yeah I gotta agree with 4cy there. I outsource a considerable amount for my company when I'm overloaded. If I can;t see your work immediately, click, next. I don't care about trusting you. That's what contracts are for. I'm sure your work is great, but so is the next person with a visible portfolio.
I hate these bitch and moan threads...

(Mar 15 06, 06:29)Dont hate. Just cause I make the ideas in my head public doesnt mean Im off my rocker. Its amazing. As soon as i go against the grain about something, everyone has their panties in a bunch. Why is that? Who gives a fuck that Im not from NY, what does that matter. Im just saying arn't any of you guys tired of the same shit, the same approach. And Im not hating on Jeffs work, I think he has great work. He is one of those guys that gets it.

I just wanted to say to Jeff (if he is out there) that the approach that you have taken for selling us your work; does not work. And i find it interesting that you put yourself on Public Broadcast in this design community to show us that you are worthy. Your cocky approach of having me look at your site/your work bothers me. Its as if WE owe you something because you are paying your dues. "I will be permanently relocating to New York from Australia this April And would welcome the opportunity to meet with studios/publishing houses around this time period." Well you know what Jeff, we are all paying our dues and we are all on a time schedule . So next time try a approach that doesnt make me feel like I am obligated to look at your work.

This is the kicker: Jeffrey has fabulous work, work that is smart and insightful. He has a very clear vision of what he is doing; good enough to keep up with the trends but not to be a whore. He spins things his own way. It's clear that he knows what he is doing.
While I have never enjoyed the 'here is my portfolio hire me' approach, at least he has the goods to back it up. His approach may be tired, but his work is refreshing and different. So back off. I hope Jeffrey lands a job. His is the kind of talent we need.

i mean - its not liek he linked himself
- renaphuah0
i think there's no harm in that approach, as long as he/she really deserves it.
i'd say good luck to jeffrey ;)
