(Mar 9 06, 09:34)Most muslim nations don't recognize israel as a nation. Which I think is pretty fucking stupid. Eygpt might be the only muslim country to recognize israel.

Kus I was just making a statement about the apparent segregationist behaviours you see in Israel but not in Islamic states. Things obviously work by force in the Middle East since many of the governments resemble military dictatorships.

how about re-nationalizing the ports, airports, prisons, and public works? nothing good's come from the privatization of those...

I mean I understand you have beef with Israel, but if you want to play the money game, you may have to get over the other shit.

(Mar 9 06, 09:34)It is in solidarity with their Arab brothers whose state was destroyed and taken away from them to make room for the Jewish only apartheid state called Israel.

(Mar 9 06, 09:42)you hit the nail on the head

I understand what the reasons are, but these reasons may fuck up your economic development is my point.

and I was just trying to explain, Mimio, why a country who has shouldered a large proportion of Palestinian refugees, such as the UAE, would be loth to normalise relationships with Israel.

he's gonna sell the nation before he leaves office.

So is it still being portrayed as America selling ports to Dubai? Even though they sold the control of those ports to a foreign company years ago.

skt, england is the largest ally the US has, they owned it. UAE has aided in shipping nuclear components to iran and n. korea, and support the destruction of the state of israel, also a close ally of the US. That is the difference.

Ha! it makes me laugh, America allways talks about being being so patriotic. The only thing that your govenment is patriotic to is money!!

anyone but the Ay-rabs skt, anyone but the Ay-rabs!
And to think, Americans are forcing free trade around the world in the name of free-market neo-liberalism.
- mrdobolina0
in an ideal world the port thing would be nationalized, I suppose. But with billions in play that isnt going to happen.
- skt0
I'm just curious as to how it is being portrayed in the media. That is all?
- skt0
True kuz, true.
Global free trade. But only if we like you.

dobs, the UAE is a benign and loyal ally of the United States. It does not recognise Israel until a just and acceptable decision is reached on the "Palestinian question."
- mrdobolina0
for the record, I am not saying I agree with anything I said above, just relaying the hang-ups people have about it being sold to the UAE.

Dubai-owned company has decided to transfer fully the U.S. operation of P&O ports in North America to a U.S. entity,
according to Sen. John Warner.
as you where.

last thread about this you were saying it was a very bad idea for america to sell to uae mr dobs.
two things bug me about this... one, it's being portrayed as america selling to uae. which it isn't.
two, why shouldn't one company buy another in a free market? or have I missunderstood the idea behind a free market?
