I just don't buy any new music until the end of the year, once all the lists come out.

people have been dick riding www.pitchfork.com for a long time. this has transformed to reflect their pretentious attitude, and if stuff isn't "cool" they'll dog it. its a good place to start to find new shit to download though.
vice is short, blunt and to the point. i'll agree on that.

i love being pretentious as well, but pitchfork takes it to a new level. as in they realize their reach and how much weight they carry and start to abuse it.

Most of the writers at www.punknews.org have their heads on straight. Despite the name, they cover a wide range of indie material. I check the RSS feeds from that site like 20 times a day when I'm bored at work. The asshats who post comments about the music reviews on that site are another story however.
