pony you've got a good point, don't get me wrong. i certainly think that abortion, in most of the aspects it holds, is wrong. but that's my view.
point being, is i don't think the government - much less, seven men - should be able to decide what women can and can not do.
your point about murder is that... i think that the murderers out there do it in cold blood or in the spur of the moment. i know a couple girls who have ahd abortions nad they were incredibly on the edge about it, i don't think they actively say, "hey let's kill a baby." it's something that is a horrible decision.
so while the murder debate is there, it's not at the same time. it also applies equally to everyone, whereas this debate applies only to women.

I lived in South Dakota for 1 year.
It was the coldest and most depressing year of my life.
But not nearly as depressing as the passage of this bill.

I just watched a movie documenting the lives of a group of homeless children who were all products of Romania's abortion ban. This new law of South Dakota's is going to smack them right in the ass. Crime will probably sky rocket.
Obviously you've never been a woman, Ponyboy. I can't imagine not having the right to choose. It's not exactly comparible to everyday killing on the streets, as you have described. (It's like when people argue homosexuality in comparison to child molesters. Ridiculous!)
Do you know how many babies we'd have running around if it weren't for abortion? Grant it, we need to stress proper methods of contraception. But tell that to a bunch of ignorant, horny teens.
In my opinion, abortion saves more lives than it ends.

... that's besides the point...
... I understand the world is full of homeless, the unable, the ailing... *sigh... it really pisses me off and I want it gone. I know it's sad - it's an epidemic of sorts (homeless/runaways etc)...

... i was just thinking that stopping a life that's already going... a lil fetus or perhaps feti?... w/lil tootsies and an IIiitlle wittle bip of a nose... it's alive - *sigh...

this will never fly but...
why dont we just implant a permanent contraceptive device in everyone from birth, and when one, or a couple, or whomever wants to have a child, you pass a test to prove you are fit to be a parent(whether it be emotionally, mentally, financially, etc.). i mean the test would be pretty lax i suppose, kind of catering to the broadest amount of people wanting to be parents. i mean anyone who wants it deserves a chance.
