Is there a way to put the palm tree on the outside of the house such that it is "cradling" it? i think that would better convey longevity and care (management)

i've found complete honesty to be extremely constructive. he needs to try harder. you solving the problem for him isn't going to help in the long run.

It's a tricky one. Don't like it. Maybe rather than going for the cliche you should just aim for a nice word mark instead? Not everything needs a literal logo.

since the market all lives in hawaii there's really no need to brand it as hawaii .. that's a given. what else is interesting/different about this mortgage company?

i should have mentioned that the mark already belongs to the company, they just wanted me to redesign it using the same graphic. so not much flexibility there.

well if the brief was to come up with a logo that depicted the usual cliché's of the industry and hawaii in a boring and half-arsed manner I think you really hit the nail on the head.

looks good, a big improvement. but i'd get rid of the tabs on the house.
looks like it's on cinderblocks or stilts. doesn't say stability.

Hey, really like it, the only thing I would add is the detail on the palm tree may get lost when printing in a reduced size.
