Any suggestions on a good wireless Router to buy for a G5? Is AirportExtreme the way to go, or is there something a little cheaper that works just as good?

I'd recommend Netgear or D-Link.. does more stuff, cheaper

netgear does the trick

I have a linksys wrt54g and it is the mutt's nuts.

mutts nutts...good or bad?
- mrdobolina0
good, I learned that term from the brits on nt.
Seriously the linksys routers are highly configurable and hackable, more firmware updates and things. Same price as the d-links and netgears.
Dont ever buy an airport, waste of your hard earned cash.

linksys' are not good if your doing a lot of downloads. if you downloading a lot i would avoid them. A friend had 2 go bad on him. hes now a netgear and has had no problems.

netgear are definately the worst. I have one and there are actually 4 different hardware versions of the same router. thats how bad it is, that firmware couldn't fix the problems.

(Feb 19 06, 11:58)I got the same one. So far I have not had any problems with it.
The worst brand would be smc. They are just pure shit.

I forgot to say that my desktop is always connected to the router and the 2 laptops my gf and I have are always working wirelessly. No problems so far with the speed or signal.
The only thing is that the router came with the tiny usb thingy that we used for my gf's laptop coz hers is not wireless. it broke after 4 months but my she really abused that tiny thing.

the linksys worked fine with my iBook G4...

Seeing as how the US site for Netgear is down, I can't link it there, but this is the dog's bollocks:
http://www.netgear.com.au/produc…I have the previous model with internal antennae, and the range is still huge.
