i've got an ibook 1.44ghz with 1.5gb ram. i just found out that my ibook gets really hot, and i checked the temperature from SysStat nano, and it is roughly 65°Celsius.
Is this normal?

Is it laying on a flat surface when you're running it, or is it elevated on something like an iCurve?

it's laying flat surface on my desk...

Prop that sucka up. Get some air flowing underneath it. It will help out SO much.
I've found if I work on mine for a long period of time say on the couch, the bottom gets raging hot, but when it's up on the iCurve it's normal. Definitely try and get it up off the table.

it's normaly after regular used, and not really a problem, but you should consider an icurve or something like that, or a cooling pad with fans (i have a vantec lapcool 3 - 2 fans, and almost silent).

Yeah I'd recommend a cooling pod for pretty much any laptop. My roommate has a sweet antec one that was only $20 or so at Fry's. Definitely makes a difference. All that heat can't be a good thing.
If you want to go budget (like i was in college) just take two magazines and prop that sucker up by its edges. It pretty much does the same thing but for free.

lol never thought of that! i'll use magazines for now till i get the cooling pod.
cheers dude

I have this one by netwer.ch. I really enjoy the simplicity and portability.

i actually made a stand myself. I went to the art store, bought some thin balsa wood pieces for 3 bucks. I made a little piece on the back and the sides and it holds the laptop and gets air. :)
