Just wondering who has it and how you find it...do you use it often?
If I get the 40GB model will I fill it up quickly?
Do I need a phoneline?

I have one and I got one for my parents this christmas.
I like it. I wouldnt have seen todays House episode if I didnt have one. about the 40Gb model depends on if you save shows or not for a long period if not then it should do you fine. one thing though i would recommand and everyone has also recommanded this to me is get the lifetime deal it really does payoff. if you have any tivo questions i recommand you asking www.tivocommunity.com
also if you do decide to get one i recommand http://galleon.tv/
you can also get google maps on tivo google ... Google Maps for TiVo.hope that helps.
also tivoblog.com is nice for tivo apps that get made for tivo.

you can also get free Yahoo apps and download videos from rocketboom.com a feature i would love to try is the ability to dowload video onto video ipod but i have a second gen ipod mabe if that full-screen ipod comes out id def get it to download shows for free onto it using the tivo it can also be done using the psp

jevad, Do you have a land phone line?
Because you need one to start TiVO, and then you don't need it ever again if you set it up over the internet.
I don't have a land phone line.
Hence like tehgee, I have DVR from Comcast.
And I haven't missed an episode of 'General Hospital' since.

i heart my dvr

yeah- you need a phone lin eplugged into it. also- the 40 gig is plenty IMO. that's what i got.

i don't know nic, if you love the OS X interface, you will definitly find pleasure in the TiVo interface. that is one of it's assets that makes it so wonderful to use. and technically, it runs on a Linux box so that is pretty cool as well. ;)

jevad i really suggest going to tivocommunity.com just to see tivo users switching to comcast dvr and then going back, there are alot of complaints about it aswell, no dvr is perfect, but if you want to make a better decision id recommand that forum i learned alot there and there are alot of people with experience with other dvrs aswell, comcast wont give you the features tivo allows like putting your videos on psp or video ipod for free no need to buy from itunes. also you can get yahoo stuff on a tivo aswell order movie tickets etc it just offers alot more for you. If you get the lifetime deal you will see it will pay off if you plan to have a pvr for a long time. anyway i hope that helps again i recommand going to tivo community dot come forum some pvr blogs you might find helpfull are prvwire.compvrblog.com if its tivo i recommand tivoblog.com
which ever pvr you decide to go with you will see that you have alot more time to do things when you want them. Im addicted to the show house but no way i can watch it if i didnt have a pvr, also tivo suggest feature allows you to discover new shows that you might like.
anyway im writting to much to read ....

you dont need one its just for the setup new tivo boxs have teh software preinstalled..
- jevad0
"If You can take it to a friend with a phone line you can do initial guided setup there and then after it finishes with that, bring it home and set it up with a wired network adapter. If you want to use a wireless G network adapter, you will need to leave it there until it downloads software 7.2. Look here for the adapter compatibility lists: www.tivo.com/adapters
Look here for a site to request expedited download of software version 7.2: www.tivo.com/priority"interesting!
Thanks!
