Good old Moof, yeah but seriously PC's are total shite for design work.. You need a Mac if you want to do things right.. Windows PCs have a habit of slowing almost to a halt 6 months after you buy them and start using them.. This has never happened to any Mac I’ve owned

(Feb 10 06, 12:34)anything to back that up?
many people use PC's for design work on a daily basis. the apps are the damn same on both platforms. maybe in say like, 1997, a mac was easier for a design workflow, but now that's utter crap.

imakedesign i dont know what gen powerbook you have but apple made a recall for the white spots and they replace your display.. cant find the email/artical but mite wana look into it....

Yeah I Have both a windows Pc and a G5 Mac with similar spec and the Pc is almost useless now, total and utter crap.. im sorry but that’s just the way that it is.. The windows operating system is total crap, everyone knows this so its news to no one. Windows vista is only now doing what os x did in 2001, seriously if you want to keep on top of things with a good computer a Mac is the only way.
- tkmeister0
i have both at home but i mainly use my powerbook.
either way i look at them, they are just tools i use to create what i want and need.
i can live with a pc if that's given. i just prefer pb because it's sexy.

friend of mine is going on his shopping for heis 3rd computer , prev two were PC and both rotted with Virisus , I told him to buy a MAC
- jmteow0
If your computer is "rotting" with viruses, then perhaps he should've used a firewall and antivirus program.
Essentially, all my friends who use a good firewall and antivirus program have 0 problems with that issue.
- thejudders0
Forget Viruses, its the operating system.. Windows its just not up to scratch. Microsoft always will be behind in the PC OS game, they like to see the new ideas from others 1st then implement them 4 years later as NEW ideas

understood, but he is a causal pc user and has no idea what a firewall is , or how to install software ...given the fact that its easy .. I installed Norton but that did nothing .....

(Feb 10 06, 12:39)yeah i know but is out of warrenty now :-\
if anyones looking a the progress of windows vista there is some pretty amazing things going in it.
also my mac pisses me off a lot because i have to keep upgrading to 10.1.103 blah blah blah, how do apple make it that itunes simply wont work if i have not upgraded every 2 weeks.

BTW...it was 150 million in non-voting stock that Microsoft bought. Microsoft actually got two things out of the deal: Apple dropped it's lawsuit against MS and also temporarily got the US antitrust investigators off it's back.
In no way is MS the biggest apple shareholder.

I use both. If I turn them on at the same time my Mac boots up in about a quarter of the time as the PC.
I look at the number of processes running on the PC and there are about 30. Wtf.
My Mac does run slow once in a while, but I just restart and all is well. The only thing I like about the PC though is how accurate and fast the mouse is. The Macs wireless mouse is a bit sluggish and off.
Just as a person chooses a car for their needs, a person chooses a computer for theirs.
(I like my Mac better though. Shhhh... don't tell my PC)

now that they ironed out most of the cross-platform compatability issues for files and such, does it really fucking matter?
this argument is inane.

The only thing I like about Mac's is the OS. I bought a 800mhz powerbook and a G4 tower years ago and both were grossely underpowered to run the OS decently along with my graphic/video apps. The Flash app and player playback was a joke.
