Hi there - just made some amends to a flash site but some of the amends aren't refreshing. I have contacted the hosts and they say it is nothing to do with their end. Any ideas what it could be?
I have asked other people to view it so it isn't my cache.

this works quite well but not every time -

set yr cache to 0 and/or set yr browser to check for newer versions of the file every teime you visit the page.

firefox dev tools seem to work the best for clearing the cache, but undo's idea sounds good too

its not just on my machine that isn't seeing the amends. Its not my browser or machine.

what's the url and the changes we should see?

this should have a restaurant award logo to the left of the body text not at the top to the right of the main logo.

In menus: the righthand buttons should say seasonal instead of christmas.
Events: Seasonal button is there. Go through and seasonal menu is not!
The same for the other sites: Derby/Leic.

looks like it should to me, seasonal is ther and nottingham restaurant award is on the left...

ntl is the problem. happens with us all the time. they cache thier content on thier own servers. can sometimes take hours for things to update.

not when I upload the same site to a development server. The amends are uploaded and are freshed instantly.

that tutorialized solutions would work too, but I use "?cacherefresh=" + new Date ().getTime ();" at the end of the loadmovie or getURL either way its a unique number. and by using date and time it will always be different

hey there inkyhands didnt realise you were from Notts!!
this maybe due to server arrays not being updated immediately. basically your isp has an array of servers (mirrors) that all have the 'same' content. When you upload new content to one server it should be updated on the others too but it can take a bit of time to happen. depedning on how busy the servers are and the isp some users will get versions that havent been updated.
hope that makes sense.

UndoUndo why do I only have problems with that site then? All my other sites are fine.
