The letters that make up 'NEMA' would go great into a custom made logo, maybe start from scratch, with a good concept behind why the letterforms will look like they will, and come up with something 'contuniuous, fluid etc'?
Just my opinion, dont hit me!!!!!

I agree with the idea of using this as a basis to go further with, as it stands with some tweaks, it doesn't bother me either.
With the graphic, I think you may need to increase the stroke weights inside the icon, it might completely fill in when reduced in size..
In terms of it lacking emotion, well, it doesn't tell a story, but i'm sure when it's applied the brand will help tell the story..

Dont take this the wrong way, but stop!, its worse now than the first one IMO.
I really beleive you should come up with something that is more applicable for a snow co.
if not, the first or seconf iterations of this were the best! good luck with it old chap!

haha just throwing out options. i also believe that the second ideas were the better ones.
i also believe its harder to get the general idea or direction of the company with just the logo to show. it should be easier and look nicer to see the logo on some gear so i'm trying to keep that in mind as well.

The logo is a strong mark, but looks nothing like snow or clothes. I'd re-think the red-ball within the mark. It looks like you're trying to hard to incorporate something that looks cool, but is unreleated. Changing the color of the red ball may help, and/or changing the shape from a ciricle into something else.
the black and red and angular type look to techie for me.

Is it just me or would the logo close in too much at a smaller size ? Perhaps increasing the letter spacing slightly might avoid that. Also, the circular doo-hickey keeps making me ask, "what the hell is that and what does it have to do with the company?"

have you considered dropping the icon and just focusing on the word NEMA as the mark..?
NEMA is short and symetrical enough to work on its own, and really if the icon makes no reference to the name its kinda unnecessary.
i'd focus on developing NEMA and perhaps an interesting "N" shape will evolve outta that.

i just think the symbol is something fun to always throw on a tee or sweater. it might have no use atm since there's no clothing to show but it's just the idea of also connecting symbol with brand. you usually get accustomed to seeing the anon logo instead of the text logo and you immediately connect both the symbol with the brand even though the graphic they have doesn't entirely represent the goggle industry.
just my 2 cents on why most action sports companies have both a symbol and text logo... i might just be lazy to fix up NEMA by itself

havent read the thread & may have been mentioned, ..but why does the green icon look out of focus/compressed
- ********0
they all look like that... just a low quality jpeg, right?
- blackspade0
i can never understand saving flat colour files like that as a .jpeg !?
sorry- pet hate, ignore me

all just quickly thrown together in ps without really worrying about resolution, etc. i'm still trying to get a general idea of how i want to finalize the logo so it's all still experimental from here
