Here's a little honest advice derek, guy to guy, and not mg33 to derek, but guy to guy, honesty!
1) She's pretty cute.
2) She's travelling around the f'ing world to several places even more exotic than Hawaii (LA of course) (kidding).
3) She's with her friends.
4) That shit she said about "My mom would like you," and "you should come and see me some time," you want to know what that is?
In Texas, we call that Bullshit.
You are 100% guranteed that she has used that line at least once before on that trip to another guy who is a stranger, and guranteed she'll use it again on another one.
Life isn't like the movies. True, emotion sure can seem as such, but when girls say stuff like that, it's their polite way of saying SOMETHING.
Man, I've been all in knots before about the same thing, pretty much at your same age.
I used to have a horrible problem thinking that any conversation I had with a girl or hung out with was going to lead to a relationship. It sucked. You'd get so excited to see them or talk to them, and then when the conversation was stale and nothing hinting at much, you got depressed. It took me a while to realize that sometimes you just meet people and that's all it is. The next sun rises and you've got memories and you've got your future.I crave that stuff because being a songwriter I write about the tough memories and not much of the happy things in the world. Trying to come around though. So I've always been fueled by that.
But things like that do suck, so occupy your time with something, think about her for the good reasons, but like I said, only the movies will tell you that your whirlwind scheme is plausable.
Life. Tis tough.
