Who is? The blur is just another Flash feature that helps to make sites like this more immersive. Should we not use it just because it's been used before?

There are at least a couple messages here:
A. Sean has skill: The photography and the design/layout of the site give the message that he has skill.
B. Sean has style: It's probably not your style, but it's his. If you don't like it, that's your problem, not his.

I'm not sayng you're making a big deal out of it. What I've been trying to say is that ever since Flash 8 came out a lot of people have been focussing on the blur aspect rather than the total experience. I agree with you.
