center it, and place it on a black background would be a good start I believe.. and say.
wish the transitions were slicker, they seem choppy, may be safari, tho.
also I dont understand why I can't just go into the portfolio part, rather than the list of words that I suppose describe who you are.
I think the portfolio already does a lot of that, the whole "intro thing" just seems extra.

Wow you guys are quick.
Thanks for the comments - I must confess this site is actually a couple of years old. It was my uni site, and it got me a lot of interviews (and eventually a job).
It is intented to be different / a little confusing. I am a difficult person (I ask a lot from clients / employers) and I wanted the site to reflect this.
I don't think it matters that the work isn't instanly accessible, the site is a work in itself.
Yes - split personality, I was going through some tough times back then. Girls..
I was not very knowledgable about web back then, and the top left / static size was not a choice - I didn't know any better. It's not as immersive as I would have liked.
I would have hated it to have that "standards compliant" look about it. Everyone is so obsessed with being the same... it worries me a little.
Thanks for your comments. I've never put it out in the public forum to be ripped apart before... Goodtimes. ;)
Cheers.

i think its excellent as an experiment, but many of the comments other users have left are very valid. it's certainly spawned more controversy than most portfolios, which can't be a bad thing. i like things that do a mind-f*ck on the participant, but its also saddening that it is difficult to access the actual information.
that said: i like it, just ... i would probably try to figure out how to revise it a little. maybe slightly bigger text, and if you can figure out how to load the stuff that's in the popups internally with flash or javascript, that would be a lot better, the dual-mouse thing gets confusing when you have to switch between windows.
don't abandon the concept, its unique, well thought-out and creatively implemented.
it was definitely more engaging than most of the sparse-white portfolios users have on this site (like mine).

I kinda like the concept. Really interesting. Nice touch of sensitivity but the double cursor gets annoying after a while...
Also, not clear where to get to your portfolio pieces.
Keep going.

i love the concept, very cool - the execution does look dated - concept is king though so i give it
