Depends if you mind telling horrible lies or not.
- HelloWorld0
well... no not if it leaves me a good reference for my resume.

If I tell the boss the truth that im starting night school on the 23 and I wont have time to give a 2 week notice because I have to move out of my current residence aswell and that will take up my time during the day.

WHy didn't you just hand notice in 2 weeks ago?
- BuddhaHat0
That's definitely a bit of a bind. I would imagine that the absence of one of his staff would be a hassle, one which could cost him money. He won't like you for that.
Unless you have an awesome excuse that earns his sympathy... and not being organised (which is what it sounds like) doesn't cut it...good luck...

(Jan 17 06, 19:58)I should have. Iv been packing, moving boxes myself moving service is to expensive ...working, getting new cards license etc... had alot on my mind, but I should have... i just dont want a bad reference, can he use that info when people call him? i mean its not that big deal is it?
- HelloWorld0
it takes an hour to drive to work and another hour back unless bad traffic, I just wont have time to wake up go to work till 5 come home do the rest of the stuff i need to do finalize the moving and cancel services etc... and then go to school and then sleep... no way abit to much, i do feel bad for the late notice but nothing I can do, yes i should have done it earlier.
- HelloWorld0
it will be 2 years till i go back to work again anyway so it dosnt matter right? its not like he will be mad then so i should just tell him the truth tomorrow and hope for the best? or would u make something up and if so what would it be?
- BuddhaHat0
I would see if there was some way you could make up your obligations to him once you have finished what you've got coming up... it might go some way to redeeming yourself...
you gotta think about what's happening to your final paycheck or two as well...
- HelloWorld0
i have his email would it be better to email him now? i dont thing he would check now but if he replies through email that be better.
- HelloWorld0
what do you mean about the final paycheck? the company has to pay me for my hours?
- BuddhaHat0
tell your boss you're leaving without proper notice via email??? are you serious?that's like breaking up with someone via sms...
Have the big hairy ones to say it to his face... THAT will get you more respect I think... show remorse... 'cos unless they doesn't like you, or there's no work for you to do, you have just really inconvenienced them.
- ephix0
yes, you cannot email him...
- BuddhaHat0
Pay you for your hours? why do they have to meet their end of the bargain, if your employment declaration states you need to give notice, and you're not?
- HelloWorld0
yeah your right i should do it face to face, thanks for the advice cause i was really considering doing that. im just gonna tell him tomorrow should i do it in the morning or afternoon before leaving?
- Jnr_Madison0
Tell him that you have fallen madly in love with him and you think its best you left now while you can still control yourself.

(Jan 17 06, 20:22)hehehe im looking at the best way to quit so my reference is still good that wouldnt help.
im gonna just tell him the truth but whats a good time to tell him morning or afternoon before i leave?
- BuddhaHat0
Tell him first thing in the morning, like it was your most important task to let him know...
You might have to wear it throughout the day, but if you stay in the office, you're giving him the chance to call you in, say what he wants, ask you the questions he needs to, so he can start arranging a replacement...
You want to keep this guy happy, he'll be giving the reference, yes?
- HelloWorld0
yes ...well i can put another person on the reference aswell but it be the same thing. yes this is the guy ill be puting on my resume regarding that job reference.
and i think you make some excellent points about telling him first thing in the morning rather then aafternoon thanks alot BuddhaHat you really made some good points I think i would have fucked up if it wasnt for your advice.
- BuddhaHat0
NT - be nice to it, and it will be nice to you :)
