I know what you mean tkmeister.
Where I work, I was our receptionst for about 1 1/2 years.
Then got promoted into Marketing, did some general administrative stuff in the first year, and thankfully in the last year my role has evolved tremendously because they've seen what I'm capable of.So I've had to learn alot, and really enjoy working in the legal world. Law firm marketing is still such a young niche area of marketing/advertising.
When I think of all the hours I've spent just reading about other firms, researching what people say about themselves, what gets noticed, what cuts through the pack, it's kind of crazy to think how I COULDN'T evolve without all that.

it's funny how it is. the things i learned were the things i cared least before. i didn't give a crap about marketing. and all this time, i hated having have to do it. i also had to do all the hands-on design work as well on top of that. it drove me crazy.
however, now i can strategize, talk online marketing, business, etc.
anyway, that's all over. now i am off to the new start. so exciting!
