so one of recruiters i am using for job hunting is upset.
she has briefly talked about one agency but never got back to me on that. in the last month, she talked about some opporutnites that never went no where.
friday, i got a call from another recruiter about this opening at the agency that was mentioned by the old one.
so i jumped on it and gave him a go sign. of course, the old one finds out and asking me what's the deal.
i trust no recruiters. whoever gets me the job first will get the commision. am i wrong?

Never assume sh*t with these rats, they lie, cheat and steal.
My kind of peeps!

mentioning an agency doesn't give her rights to your employment contract. if you had interviewed once with them, that would be different.

It's aalways frustrating. Remember, they're basically sales people.
Who are you using?

harlequino,
i'd rather not say here.the way i look at them is, i'd use the one who can best represent me. it's his win to contact me quickly and land me an interview. if they can't deliver, why should i care.

(Jan 9 06, 09:15)no - you are totally right. Recruiters will lie, cheat and fucking steal - you have no contracts with him - whoever get's you the leads and gigs first wins - and she shoudl know that....

No say, at least warn other poeple about poor performance from recruitment agents. It' not slanderous, it's professional advice. If she's hopeless and does this whole pouty routine because you're getting a better service from another company, than stuff her. And i would tell her exactly that.

you should tell them if they want exclusivity on your job hunting, you should be the only person they put forward for all their jobs.

I've never used one, but now I am thinking I should. The fact is that I'd never even considered finding one. Does anyone have some links to NYC recruiting agencies? or is the commentary here a good indication that these people are not to be dealt with?

There is something called a non-competive agreement. The agency that you dumped could sue the other agency. Honest Indian!

here's another tricky part.
this upset recruiter has a partner relationship with another(different from ones i mentioned already) recruiter. this one pretty much got me a gig, i think (80%) sure. now i am just waiting to hear back from her about the details on the project. i was supposed to start on jan 3rd but got postponed.
so i don't wanna piss her off. argh. what a mess. recruiter disputes...

you as their product have nothing to worry about, but you might have burned a bridge with the first recruiter/agency whatever
- tkmeister0
yeah, i might have burned a bridge.
oh well, it's a competitive market. what can i do.
