Mountain Cycle have a nice site with lots of information, photos, specs for all their bikes. they have a blog as well. when their Family Album and Message Board come online it will create a nice little community:

San Andreas Mountain Cycles have always been the sexiest DH bikes in my opinion. I think they came out with the first decent single swing-arm bikes, and they are just mental. BMW and Porsche bikes are nice, but they're stupidly overpriced.
After watching a few recent DH videos from Canada and the UK, I would also have to say Rocky Mountain Cycles (http://www.bikes.com) and Yeti Cycles (http://www.yeticycles.com)
And, 'cos it's Australian, I have to give Craftworks a plug too... http://www.craftworkscycles.com/…

BuddhaHat...I was a bit reluctant to buy my San Andreas because the design has not changed much in a decade. But after riding it I totally get it...the ride is brilliant.
My San Andreas (classic model) tracks SO well and it just anticipates where I am going. It's the best mountain bike I've ever owned.
