Hi people,
I posted a while back on this one, I have modified the logo and now can't decide between two.
I have uploaded them to my server, basically, one logo has a symbol along with the text, the other one doesn't. Let me know which you prefer. Both logos are on a business card I am working on.
Without symbol:

back -With Symbol:
front -
back -Appreciate any comments good or bad.
Thanks

without. looks too cluttered with.

the logo with symbol is way more interresting than that wordmark alone.
but it can be stronger: you could read as r + n too.

I would go with the one with a symbol. clean and simple.

Seems like people here are as divided as I am. I like the symbol but I agree it can look a little cluttered.
hmmm

with.
The final 'a' of media is horrible. The wordmark on its own just looks like some badly drawn type. With the logo it makes more sense. The R/M idea of the logo is nice but on its own could be read (as someone else said) as r/n.
Therefore they both need to be there to make the most of the idea.
Wordmark on its own=bad type
Logo on its own= idea not obviousboth=ok!

Mark on one side. On its own. Name and details on the other?
Shame to lose the mark altogethor.

I'm kinda torn. (not that I really think either are brilliant or anything)
The one without is boring.
The one with - well, I personally amn't into ID's that use acronyms for a start, but also I think it looks shit when the letters in the marque are pretty much the same size as the ones in the title to the right of it.
There's something nice-ish about the r and m thing going on but as someone said, it looks too much like 'r' and 'n'.
good luck.

I think the symbol is ok, doesn't read well on it's own but makes sense with the wordmark. I would definitely make the symbol solid blue rather than just an outline and keep the "r" the darker colour and knockout the "m" in white...
Lose the curl on the "a" at the end of "media" too..
With the biz card back, tighten up the leading a point or two as right now you could drive a truck through that leading...

how about with the wordmark, I think the solid blue cirlce will balance nicely with "media"..

is what the mark reminds me of.

newsround???? Thats not good...
- mr_snuggles0
your logo is already 10x better than anything on that website...

Can see why people might draw comparisons. I might try a few other symbols.

I like the newsround logo.
How many other children's news programs have such a nice logo? The n/r or m/r thing has been done lots before:
The original Design Museum logo by CDT joins the n/m
The nike AirMax logo joins the r/m

I also like the newsround logo. It's been around for a while too and still looks quite fresh.

uses almost the exact same symbol.
