you cant set the flash movie to 1024x 768 because you need to take in account the browser tool bar top and the footer too, plus windows has the task bar at the bottom. so that takes up real estate too.

not sure what this is, it's blank gray
...smaller window? I think the swf file would fit in there
- shilohous0
can you uplead that file to your ftp folder and test it?
- gramme0
1. paragraph text needs to appear crisp, right now I think it's not snapping to pixel; it's a problem everywhere but esp. bad on smaller text... shouldn't be so fuzzy since I set it using Georgia
2. logo on splash page needs to look centered in all browsers
3. SWF is too big for window on smaller monitors/browsers other than Safari
4. numbers that signify 'loading' appear squashed
5. logo probably smaller on splash pg

hold on...

should I change the name? just upload and refresh the site?
- shilohous0

- shilohous0
i think the flash movie was biult too big my man. whan you resize it, it squashes the text and the images too

the good news is, it fits.
you can adjust to taste, but it looks like there is some work to be donesorry brother
- shilohous0
i gotta hit the sack, but good luck.
- gramme0
shit. why do I find this out from NT heads now and not back when from my programmer??
thanks for the input man. If it has to be that small to work then I'm back to the drawing board.
*note to self: next time look for a programmer on PVN
- hiten0
so do you still need help?
- gramme0
yes
sent you an email

a nitpicky thing - it looks like your frame rate on the intro/transitions is low, like 12 - 20 fps or something. Much smoother and less jerky if you up it to 30 or even 40. You'd have to redo all the tweens tho.
Anyway good presentation otherwise, and nice work inside.
- gramme0
danke
I feel you on the frame rate issue. would do all the tweens & a few tweaks suugested above as well, but I don't know Flash. I hired a guy to do it & he kinda faked out on me. He kept forgetting to fix certain aspects of the site, or said he didn't know how to do a certain thing that seemed kinda basic, and I didn't want to pressure him since he's got some heavy stuff going on w/ his family right now. He's a really nice guy, just don't think I made the best decision hiring him. Was I too easy on him?

Eesh! You need to repeatedly slap your webnik for..
- what feels like non-Scripted tweens (bad)
- a Superfluous Landing Page (badder)
- Full Screen Pop up (baddest! .. who are you to dictate how I use my web browser?)
- trite 'where do you want to go today' stolen tagline.. from msoft?! Have you no pride? (shocking!)..which is a shame, because your work is full, wholesome and engaging - but until I saw it, I felt like you were trying to piss in my face whilst laughing at me from far away behind the screen. The only reason I continued to the work was because I love topographic forms and wanted to see how you continued the theme.
I'd also edit your 'studio' text to negate the requirement for a scrollbar, and maybe replace the yellow 'Post-It' boxes with some sort of thumbnail of the work - otherwise that's a superfluous page (or why not embed the clients in the menu somehow?)
Good luck!

Nairn et al.:
HOLY crap. I had no idea about the Msoft line.... i don't really pay attention to msoft or watch much TV or read many magazines ads. I hate most ads actually. When was that campaign done?
holy hell this is embarrassing. I've never EVER ripped anyone off (to my knowledge), not about to start now. Hopefully you can see that from the originality of my portfolio.
So I'm seriously F-d if I can't fix this soon. One of the many places I applied to is a firm who has Msoft as a major client. oh gosh
I don't know flash at all, I'm print only. I hired this guy, gave him some Illu templates I made & said make me a website please.
totally shitting myself right now.
- Nairn0
I wouldn't worry too much - the Microsoft-related company might just see it as cute and your work is good enough to lift you out of despair.
I'd only be shitting it if you're after a full-on web dev position :)
the campaign that the msoft line is from has, i think, now finished, but was their core message for at least a couple of years.
Sorry if I sounded harsh before - I'd rather be blunt and absolute, so that you know exactly what I mean. Doesn't mean that your site is actually utterly horrid! :)

Thanks for the comments & honesty. I'm the same way, no time in this world for BS.
The problem is, I wrote & designed this 40 pg promo book that I'm very proud of, & now it becomes clear to me that the website can't hold a candle to it. I hate inconsistency.
I don't need fancy, just function. My webber swore 1024 x 768 was a kosher size, but obviously not. I'm gonna dowload the flash demo today and dig into it. cripes. This could take forever.
In the meantime I asked my webber to delete intro scene with that tagline altogether.
