Hello,
Will Adobe CS work if I copy it as it is from the applications folder to another mac?
Same question for Macromedia as well

- chz0
now why would you want to do that?

It's quite a long story. I don't have access to the CDs at the moment, that's the main reason.
- chz0
uh huh.
- republik80
I suspect not.

used to work for old versions. not sure if it still does.

it's like i once asked a girl:
"let me just put the head in, and if you don't like it, we can stop."
we didn't stop. moral of the story: just do it.

If you dont have the Macromedia CD's but have a valid Serial number you can just download the Trial versions from macromedia.com
and use your legit serial ;-)for adobe products you should be fine moving the folders but you may need to re-enter your serial. Also remember Adobe products broadcast acros the local network to make sure there is only 1 serial being used on another machine. So make sure you dont have photoshop open on 1 mac and try launching it on another.

you'll want to grab anything that says adobe or marcomedia from
/Library/Preferences ~/Library/Preferences
/Library/Application Support/
~/LibraryApplication Support/
and copy that as well.

Are you sure Adobe apps check on the LAN/has any problem with it?
(The license agreement allows installation and use by a single user on two machines. Having them both active on a LAN doesn't break the license terms if you only use one at a time).
- lvl_130
yeah, i think adobe porducts will let you run multiple programs with the same serial on several computers on a network.

~ = home directory
Not 100% positive, but that's usually where registration type info is stored. Adobe might have instituted something else is CS2 to make this sort of thing more difficult.Make sure you're getting the com.adobe plist files in your home lib/preferences
