It's very liberal these days, although in some areas it can be a bit dangerous, I don't want to lie to you. But that goes for any urban area. Outside of the city, which has tons of things to do in the first place, there is an area called Stellenbosch. http://www.stellenbosch.org.za/ it's absolutely f*cking ridiculously beautiful. Garden of Eden type sh*t. There is a budding art community and the club scene rivals all the best. something specific you want to know?

hi norika... i live and work in cape town.
if you really want to move to south africa come to cape town first, you can always go to jobannesburg later to work, but it's not a city i'd want to live in. (saying that, you're in hk so might not be a problem).
