Funny. I live in Manhattan and work in the suburbs, so I do the reverse commute. I drove out at 5AM. The fastest drive out of NYC ever for me - 22 minutes door to door what usually takes me an hour and change. Like six cars going north. The poor suckers going the OTHER way though..wow..what a mess. Hope I have a good drive in in the PM...

came into mid-town from hoboken so it was business as usual for me.
saw a sweet lady who borrowed her nephew's longboard or something, she was riding it around acting like she rides this thing EVERY day. she also thought it was a good idea to ride with her sunglasses on.
man, it made me smile, i should have followed her as i guarantee she would have ate it within the block.

If people are car pooling to Manhattan, where are they parking?
- e-pill0
what happens if you arrive into newark airport during the times when only cars with 4 people can get into the city, what are you supposed to do then to get home and you live in brooklyn?

The city has set up designated parking lots as "car pool areas". It was so odd this moring. Because of the 4 people to a car rule, people were soliciting themselves for more passengers outside of Manhattan. I think I was honestly asked 6 times if I was going into the city. Didnt these peoples moms ever teach them not to take rides from strangers. If we really wanted to ride in a car we would not be walking.

(Dec 20 05, 01:36)Fantastic. You people don't know when you're on to a good thing. Hit the bars! This shit happens every 6 months in London... Not sure it needed a whole thread and dramatic announcements though..

I want to know....legally speaking....I understand that it's illegal for public workers to strike.... however... isn't it illegal for them to only allow cars when filled to capacity?
I mean if they can do this then if they wanted to they could lock down everything without notice like a communist country...

(Dec 20 05, 12:09)janne, in NYC it is illegal to ride your bike across the bridge, you have to walk it across the bridge. you get a nasty expensive ticket if you get caught or arrested.

The leader of that union group. He wasn't even born in the US. He sounds like he is Haitian. HAHHAHA we got a mini-African situation on our hands here folks.
ohh dear...
- robotron3k0
the Mayor and City are working overtime trying their best to make the TWU look as bad as possible,
Bloomberg is taking as many photo ops as possible and even sent the Red Cross out to greet business people by serving crappy coco when they get off the bridge.
the truth of the matter is it is cold, but the sun is shining. people are getting to work.
i heard it's suppose to last 12 days, is what the rumour is...
and who says Americans don't exercise!
