What mobile websites do you find useful? Any tips on the most useful sites for things like weather, etc would be appreciated.
At the moment I don't find any web activity on my phone useful or user friendly. I'm sure it depends on the phone. Not having a full text pad is a big part of the problem for me.

i agree. the web on my phone = a waste of time
this technology is a ways off yet... and may be irrelevant by the time it's up to speed with people's patience.

I just tried to access mobile gmail. The first time it didn't work. The second time my phone turned off.
I have a feeling the technolgy is just not there yet but maybe I would think differently with a more capable phone.

SideKick II. Excellent. And supports JS. Downloads come automatic and upgrades the OS.

I have had instances where I am on my way home during bad weather and really would like to know detailed weather info.
I can't be arsed to fiddle around for ten minutes to get a generic 50 degrees and rain forecast message. I would like an easy to use comprehensive weather site where I can see the current radar.
Also is there a mobile site search engine? How do you find useful sites?

The T-Mobile BlackBerry 7290 looks pretty nice too.

What site do you guys like for weather info? Do you use the web features of your phone much?
- JazX0
weather.com works perfectly on that

I probably just had a pain in the ass time on weather.com because my phone isn't suited well for the web. I couldn't find radar, etc.

web on mobiles is still slow and ropey. you definitely need a lot of patience with the technology thats available today.
we did a website earlier this year for a company called Picsel http://www.picsel.com/
they are developing some awesome web technology for phones/PDAs/in car systems etc.
The Picsel browser supports flash and the UI is very slick. their platform also supports software like Word etc and you can add plugins to run allsorts of other software. i beleive it works like building blocks.Picsel OS and browser capabilities are available on certain phones on the market at the moment. Their site has a list of all the hardware that their platform is available on.
These guys are really forward thinking and constantly pushing boundaries. Was amazing going to their offices to see all the new stuff and phone UI's/Navigations etc they were working on.
The company was born in Scotland but is now worldwide. good to see scotland leading in a future technology :)

Picsel is not available for the consumer?
would like to download it to my treo :(

aye, they dont sell their product to the comsumer. they sell their product to the hardware manufacturer for them to use in their devices. you'd need to go out and buy a phone or PDA with it installed.
