Does anyone know, if I ordered a new Nissan, which is being BUILT today in Japan, how long it takes to get it in my hands (allowing for time to build, ship and deliver.)
Thanks!

you are aware that this isn't a car forum, yes?

10 minutes.
maybe 15

no, mayo, I didn't know that! But I guess it IS a forum for people needing answers to questions about OS-X, the worst way to die, Italian music and cameras.
Yeah, you're right.... it's clear i'm in the wrong forum. Jerk.

i heard japanese can now ship a car through a television. all you have to do is reach into the screen and...

the dealer would know. probably 3 weeks minimum. gets over on a boat and truck.

chances are that it's already built but sitting in a storage lot

I got five on it that it will take over 2 months

Nissan's are also build in other countries. Mexico for a example.

dont for nissan dude, if you can afford, buy something else like a VW golf or jetta, they ll be more reliable, but I dont know your price range, maybe you are ordering a skyline! :-)
- Timson0
so you order directly at nissan then, and when your email arrives a team starts building, painting and customising your car after wich they ship it directly your doorstep? that's so cool!

koolbavaria - evidence shows that Japanese cars are more reliable than European alternatives
- Timson0
japanese cars are cheaper in maintenace than european cars but their engines don't last as long as european ones.

Survey of 76,000 drivers in the UK.
Top ten = 8 japanese cars, 3 European
Bottom 10 = 0 japanese cars 10 EuropeanI'm not acvocating Japanese cars (I drive an Audi). Just stating some facts

nico and timson, you are both right.. I drive a black audi TT and very happy about it and japanese engine reliability is true but I stick with german precision and quality over japanese cheappness, no pun. but I would still buy a skyline with my eyes closed and for whatever reason you are buying a nissan, I hope you like it and ejoy driving in good health!
