A friend of my sister's lived in Hawaii in the 80s. She met John Denver one night and ended up partying with him with several people back at her place. The whole group spent the entire night and morning doing coke. Sometime in the AM he realized that he had to catch a plane and had no way to get there. So he borrowed someone's car and took off. The car broke down on the highway and he abandoned it without telling anyone where it was.

My father was hired to redesign a house for him in Pheonix when we lived there. I remember going over there and it was Denver and Charlie Daniels throwing back the whiskey. My dad told me later when I was older all about Mr. Denver and his love of the coke.

Strange to see this post...just got home from working a pledge on our PBS station and we aired a John Denver documentary. spooooky.

gruntt, she wasn't so hot when she was 16 and wasted. She and her friends asked me to buy some beer for them and I ended hanging out with them for a couple of hours. Someone had to tell me she was punky. I actually had never watched a whole episode.
