We are now looking for some quality artwork submissions for the January issue. Basically anything goes so far, theme it if you feel like it but just get that artwork in a magazine. (tip - Being the selector then utter madness wins it for me!!). Since being onboard myself and a couple of others have had clients sniffing round so it is proving to be a worthy effort.
Final Artwork Deadline - 14th Dec (please send previews before hand)

i think before anyone made any submissions they'd want to see how successful the previous issue was or how good it looked etc?

If you have a bit of work that you have done for fun and aren't using, why not have it printed?
Can't say I pick it up anymore but a few years ago, I remember thinking I would love to get something in there.

mines wasnt hate.
i just asked where i could see the previous issue.no contributors or advertisers are going to take out space in a magazine if they firstly dont know what the magazine looks like or ideas about stats like hits etc.

Ha Ha, whats your issues? There's no blagging here mister! Blowback has been running now for 2 years in its funny little way and now it's evloving. It is good for your folio only if your image is decent - and thats up to you! We just offer a chance to get it out there. Yeah, we can't pay you, but then we don't charge for the mag either! plus I'm not sure any mag pays out to artists for free space such as this.
If you don't want to submit then that's entirely your choice, so leave the thread alone! If you do, I'm happy to see talent showcased. One submission just in this moment is pretty damn nice and willl go in. Recent contributors have included Tak! (http://www.taktak.net) ILoveDust (http://www.ilovedust.com/), tdp (http://www.tdpdesign.com/lameto... amongst many others.
Again, if you aren't fussed then no worries but why the Blag attacks?!! If you want to submit then use th edetails in initial post.

Blowback (in my,admittedly worthless opinoin) =
a profit making magazine, put together by designers who are paid in the currency of "if you do this for free you will be seen and get loads of paid work".... These peeps are blaggers pure and simple, if your going to do unpaid work in the hope of receiving paid work, there are much better avenues to go down....
Blowback is a freeride for the people responsible, they also do tha same with writers etc to keep costs down!
as i say, its only my opinion, dont start hatin' on me!

yeah you dotn charge for the mag, the money is made by charging advertisers for space, and its not like your giving artists free space to do with what they wish and promote themselves, you basically get them to design the whole thing.
and dont have a go, NT is about opinions and this is mine, free speech and all that! check out my folio and see the 8020 magazine work, i know how small magazines are run, i do know what Im saying!
