quit acting like a girl, if you want to say something about someone, say it.
if you don't have the balls to say something, shut the fuck up

right on, quincy

gotcha...
I still think you should tell the picker to take some responsibility for their actions.
you don't even have to be mean about it, just next time you here the picker talking about the pickee, just sort of casually note that it's the picker's fault there in that scenerio, and site a couple of examples.
It drives people nuts when you deliver that kind of thing in a cool and collected manor.

i'd have no problem putting them in their place.
seriously, most of your friends are probably thinking the same thing, so just say something to the a-hole. if you believe it is the right thing to do (holistically) then you shouldn't second-guess yourself.

mayo, then replace the word car with 1,000 horsepower snowmobile.

*sees "car talk." immediately loses interest.
:P

Quincy,
The can of worms is just making all the problems more obvious by pointing them out.
Let's just put it this way:
The person's multi-year bad decisions are what have put them in the bad spot they are in.
They are essentially choosing to blame my friend, when they could just keep their mouth shut. He does have a small bit to do with it, but look at it like this:If you took shitty care of your car for two years, no oil changes, no tune-ups, no new tires, etc. would you blame the person you let borrow it twice for the car breaking down?
No, hopefully you'd blame yourself for never doing anything about the problems.I'm being metaphorical, but that's about how it is.

Studio A:
We spread shit about other people to make ourselves feel better about our miserable lot in life.

if it all comes down to he said she said , then expose the a-hole , I hope no one is loosing sleep over it

i used to be notorious for faceless revenge. i think its a lot more satisfying. if someone was fucking with me, id usually just nod my head, biting my bottom lip and walk away. then laugh when you hear someone say 'did you hear so-and-so lost his job today? yeah, i guess someone called and told his boss all this crazy shit and the guy fired him on the spot'

Good responses everyone.
The friend "pickee" has the benefit of his friends knowing it's all lies. They know the "picker" is full of it.
I've had my share of grievances with the picker. I guess my dislike of the whole thing is because that person is no saint, and what they're calling out my friend for is so minor compared to their bad situations, choices, mistakes, etc.

hey, mg33, what exactly is the can of worms?
- fusionpixel0
simple, crash myspace
- mattyd0
i'd be fucking furious if one of my friends knew what was going on and didn't do anything about it. thats what being boys is for.
are you afraid the can of worms will open in your direction? if your buddy is having a hard time dealing with this, jump on the grenade man.
- mayo0
and, if anything, it'll help your friend weed out the not-so-loyal friends in his circle. Those friends who will automatically believe stories like that without checking in with him can be all that much of a loss, no?
- mattyd0
open up that can of worms man. you and your buddy can have a laugh about it over a beer years down the road.
- JazX0
my weiner stands up for someone everytime I see her nekked.
- cruz_azul0
yea who cares about the can of worms , stand up homie , let the whole world know your Fu$%^* Name,
- mayo0
you know mg33, when i was the pickee, just knowing I had friends who knew the truth/still talked to me was what really helped me get through it all. As well as my puppy for fuzz therapy. Life will take care of itself and the asshole will reap what he/she sows. So just make sure you're there for your friend and you let them know that it's a bunch of crap. Then go out and buy them a puppy.

...and the most beautiful was that it never had compassion in our group.
