Can anyone shed any light on this? I've seen sites that run unbeliveably slow on a mac yet work perfectly on a PC. Yet the same mac view other flash sites without any probs...
Anyone else ever had this trouble?

it has more to do with your connection speed and your browsers ability to handle this stuff. It's not a platform issue.

That's not true jaz. Connection speed has nothing to do with how a flash site runs. Unless it's not pre-loaded of course.

So would the way to correct the prob be to reduce the file size of the flash file?
Cause we're on a pretty fast connection here.

is it in all browsers?

Think it was slightly better in safari but otherwise yet it is bad in all

could be the individual flash site and how it was built/scripted.

Hmmm... point... but with simple animation?

MACs are Crap when it comes the Flash Player. Now that it is in Adobe's Hands lets see what they do with it.

(Dec 7 05, 08:59)the f*ck it doesn't. There are still sh*tloads of site and apps out there that don't preload. Think LCD, not high-end. How many people are still on dial-up. The majority.

The fuck it doesn't??
"Unless it's not preloaded"
Jaz you tit, if it has preloaded, as I said, connection speed has fuck all to do with it. Flash plays worse on a mac than on comparably speced pc.
If it hasn't loaded, then it's not going to play very well, that's a pretty easy one. But thanks for pointing it out to me again.

We rebooted the Macs, nothing open except the one browser at a time... one of them is brand new, running Tiger (don't know anything else spec wise) and still it runs like it is stuck in the mud!
yet sometimes they do run a few sites fine :(

no sh*t, but if it isn't then how is that going to function well? connection speed has everything to do with it. thanks I was agreeing with you.

Although, I would have to agree that MAC Flash Player is pretty crappy. Or so they say, I'm on PC and thankful for it.
