flattened PSD

for some reason, my PSD flattened it self when i reopened it.
now i have no layers.
there goes 5 hours of work.

shit, man...sorry to hear that dude..
that sucks.if it's any consolation, i lost a years worth of work about 4 months ago...
all i can do is sort through all my gmails and see if i can find files i sent to clients online etc..still tho...5 hours down the tubes..
my advice to you is go have a beer.

look on your computer cache if you are using windows, everytime you save windows makes a copy of the file in the system so you might be able to get it back. at least that is how i got back some files.

did you 'save as'?
sometimes the 'flatten layers' checkbox get checked by accident

There's a shortcut to open PSDs flattened, sort of a preview mode kind of thing. I assume you've opened the file as normal? If so, sucks, dude. :(

i'm sure it'll take you less than 5 hours to rebuild a psd, no? it depends on the type of work of course... but still, i feel for you.

what's that shortcut? sounds tight. for lrg. files.Also, I have a file I swear I saved layered but every time I try to open it's flat. Is it possible it's stuck in that preview mode?

it appears as though something is wrong with my photoshop, everytime i open any photoshop file it keeps flattening it.
gotta reinstall.
damn it.. i wouldnt care as much but i got client presentation tomorrow, and i know the account ppl are gonna ask for changes the last minute.
