I hate talking religion on here... I don't want to appear like some 'know-it-all' etc... that's completely what I'm not...
.. but when i don't see accurate information about something I'm knowledgeable in - well... i gotta say something. :)

Pony, you guys are literalists. Too many depictions of lions and lambs lying together to really reflect the true allegorical value of the Bible. Fundamental misinterpretation.

and to clarify what I meant by 'accurate information'... i'm talking about what the Bible truly says... and not what a load of interpretations/partial understanding/peoples opinions have to say.
Now - you can try and argue one's interpretation wrong allll day long... if I'm wrong - I'd love to know it... but if you're simply going to spew your opinion on religions and christianity in general WITHOUT backing it up... then you're just increasing your chances of carpultunnel of the fingers... :)

growing up catholic, much of the bible was presented as allegory. a much healther interpation, imho.

You're right Mimio... we are literalists (Jehovah's Witnesses) when it comes to the Bible.
It's the direct word of God to us. We study that word like we're digging for buried treasure.
As far as us believing our religion is the only true religion - well it only makes sense that if you're an active member of a certain religion - well, you obviously believe it's accurate.
Jesus mentioned how narrow the path is to truly being in God's good favor:“Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."
-Matthew 7:14Taking the scriptures literally is the only way we go it - if you cross-reference and reason using only the scriptures - chances are you would believe what Jehovah's Witnesses believe.

The problem with that assesment, ants... is that the only text (the Bible) that is written by CHRISTIANS about Jesus... completely goes against what you just said.

Actually Pony the Bible is a book that was initated by heads of state in the 431 A.D. wishing to consolidate(and control) a group of religions that were causing feuding and political unrest.
By the way, the Bible is clearly geocentric, meaning it quite plainly states that the Earth is first thing to exist in this universe. Which by countless factual/testable observations is categorically false.

the bible can be wrong in a alot of ways but dismissing it based on that is wrong aswell, you should not forget it's inherant purpose to provide comfort and a path for people in need.

Mimio... Genesis 1:1 states that in the beginning... God created the heavens and the earth...
... it doesn't say what order he created them in... and what a trivial thing to argue over anyway - the simple fact (according to the Bible) is that God created the heavens and the earth... all things originate w/him... one God.
