Okay, so i have been asked by a friend of mine to fill in for a 'selfmade' discussion in a couple of weeks.
The problem is that i haven't done anything self-y in a while.
So Denver, what do you want to talk about/listen to/drink up?
I thought about presenting a recent ID project.
thanks!

Self Made at the Double Daughters, yeah?
Dunno man.
I set out to take a photo essay: 10 snaps that definitively show my city. Shot 3 rolls and never wrote or built anything. Also have been using some of those photos and some illustrations in some personal motion work, trying to get back to the roots and away from simple text and 2.5d animations.
But what have YOU been up to?

evan,
honestly, i've been pretty scattered lately.
I've been working on an illustration that i hope to get silkscreened for my GF by the end of december.
Starting a project called "10" which is a collaborative self-cover effort with my buddy nick, who is a writer. 10 poems, 10 spreads, 1 ink.
Went to Arizona for the 'all souls procession' a few weeks ago, but got only one good photo out of the whole deal. That was a bummer, but the trip was great.
I've been screwing around with a small toy-like sculpture lately, as well. But so far i am too scared of ruining my model to cast the thing.
also,

Why not talk on
1) the importance of personal works to stay fresh
and
2) the difficulties that always come up when you're working as a commercial artist and trying to have a life and side projects
?Everyone I know (working) can relate.
I thought I had the privelege of claiming the only one. At least in this city. Dag.
Pleasure to share.
