You see, I would love to install Quicktime 7 so I can view the latest content - but I don't want iTunes, so I'm left with 6.5.
VLC seems to play QT7 content fine anyway.

I don't mind it but there are some things that are hard to understand (especially for newbies that I know). I hope they can get all that stuff fixed soon...I mean, they are always coming out with new versions and they take forever to download...

Seriously... what can possibly be so hard to understand? iTunes is super simple and too the point.
ADD songs.. listen.. make playlist... one button connect to store.. one button buy song (for those who do).. one button ipod sync.
I don't get what everyone is complaining about. iTunes is by far the simplist APP I have ever used on any computer for playing and organizing music.

Here is some easy pointers.
Put ALL music into one folder. Organize it if you wish or not.
Open iTunes
Set preferences:
UNCHECK copy files to iTunes music folder.
Set the folder you have ALL your music in.
Set your import rate you want (128, 192, ...etc.)
then inport or simply drag that folder with ALL your music in it to the itunes icon.
Listen.

I currently have 18,945 mp3s. ALL are organized my artists name and album and single in folders like "singles80's" "singlesHIPHOP"
Not one problem since the day iTunes was introduced 5 years ago.

I couldn't get it work properly either. It 'stutters' all the music it plays on my PC. Sounds horrible. I've tried twice, but haven't messed with it to see why yet. Why would itunes stutter music that plays fine everywhere else, (i.e.-winamp, media player, media monkey, etc). I toggled with no settings, so whatever the default was is how it was imported, except I chose NOT to manage my library.
Thanks!

I had that stutter problem as well. After about five minutes or so itunes would start to stutter and I would have to close it and then start it again and again five minutes later it stutters. My hard drive died a week later(due to something else) and on my new system it works fine

same here with the stuttering problem every once in a while. I think it's because iTunes takes up more memory than other things. Just guessing, since it takes long to download for everyone I know.
