So i have a bit of money to spend on a console, but not enough for a Xbox 360.
I am wondering which to get.
Xbox or PS2? Is there much between them?
I realise this is no games forum but you folks are more likely to be honest :)

Xbox is a bit more powerful, but the games for PS2 are better imo.

don't bother with any of them, they are both old and outdated long ago
save your cash a bit longer and buy a xbox 360 after xmas or a ps3 next summer...

You could get a nice modded xbox and use it to play lots of emulators for snes, megadrive, n64, gameboy, mame and more that i can't remember.

no listen to anyone here...get a console for the games you love not the brand that plays them.
research the titles that will be shipping with 360 over the titles already out for both PS2 and Xbox and the ndecide what console you want.
the Xbox was designed to be more powerful than the PS2 but PS2 has over 1000 more games than Xbox.
its about gameplay, thats what it comes down to.
i personally believe the SNES has the best game play of any system, cept maybe NEO GEO but that is another thread.
i also personaly will never support Microsoft and never get an Xbox or 360 but the games also designed uner those consoles are created specificially for the pc gamer as the lead demographic. i myself dont play pc games and hence wont purchase the system that has that style of gaming.
do the research and find the system that will benefit you the most.
the PS3 will have all the licenses under their umbrella while the Revolution will only have a limited of those licenses and the 360 will also in turn probably have half of the sont licenses as well.
so its simple...what do you want as a gamer?

Graphics appear to be better than the PS2 and you get all those cool nintenenenendo games..

HM - notice the proviso 'Appear' in "Graphics appear to be better than the PS2".
To my untrained eye (I've only been using computers for 21 years), the graphics for the GC 'Appear' better, when put side by side similar PS2 titles.
Surprisingly sharper and cleaner - maybe it's somehow due to the 60hz refresh.. I don't know.
I'm no fanboy of any system (I have all 3 stated in this thread) but if I was a Famicom mario Kart fan, after a cheap gaming system, I'd at least consider the GC.

i agree with Nairn. i personally love my Gameboy Micro and i feel the crap graphics destroy any good looking game as its game play i love and not graphics. i could play Combat on the atari 2600 for hours on end and never get bored, and i can play 10 minutes of the next gen console games and turn the crap off after waiting for the load screen to disappear. i have gc, ps2, both gameboys, atari 2600, snes, nes, intelivision, and collecovision. its gameplay dammit!!!
