A C.reative, E.ducational, R.ecording & P.erforming A.RTS & H.ealthy Experience
" C.reative, E.ducational and H.ealthy Alternatives
to
Substance Abuse and Criminal Activity
through
The PLAYground of The ARTS !... "
The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative
1. Program Description:
There is an untapped repository of potential in our young people. The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative is designed to communicate creatively with the heart, soul and mind -Total Communication. We establish a creative platform with an open invitation for diverse forms of expression. This gives us all the opportunity to find ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses.
Our number one priority is SOLUTIONS. We have discovered that creative activities have a way of producing solutions.
Charles LUCKY Gibbs
Music & Performing Arts Director
The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative will introduce our youth to all types of art forms - i.e., music (vocal, instrumental, digital), dance, creative writing (lyrics, poetry, skits, short stories), drama (student productions), record production & manufacturing, as well as hands-on, healing art forms such as drawing, painting, clay, stage & prop design, digital & computer arts, photography, etc.
Adolescent dilemmas: there are a number of reasons why they exist. The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative has been formulated from both the positive and negative aspects of human & adolescent conditions - poverty, one parent families, poor living conditions, violent and/or criminal environment, peer pressure, substance abuse, negative multi-media influence, etc. All of these elements play a major role in the behavior and personalities of our children.
The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative is a multi-level, multi-faceted, multi-cultural approach to meeting the needs of young people while simultaneously and therapeutically healing dis-ease by recognizing, acknowledging and cultivating their inherent talents and potential. This program was and is designed for at-risk youth in Enterprise Neighborhoods but has served from infants to 100 year old seniors, all Talent Levels.
This C.reative, E.ducational, R.ecording & P.erforming A.rts and H.ealthy Program offers time-tested and proven RESULTS.
2. Communication
"Eenee Meenee Mynee Moe - Catch a Tiger by its’ Toe " - a simple rhyme but very effective, even throughout decades of time. We have all been affected by the creative use of simple words, lyrics to songs and literature. Words are only one of the keys to unlocking the doors of communication.
Communication is the first stage of The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative. It is vital to reach the minds and the hearts of our children, including the generations that have been inadequately served in the past, present and future. The generations that have passed adolescence must be served as well, due to the simple fact that they in turn could have a powerful influence on the present generation of children. This serves to bridge the gap - the communication gap in our divided society.
The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative works towards establishing a mutual respect and understanding for ALL PEOPLE. This supplies us with the guide lines necessary for good communication.
3. Discovery
Discovery is the second stage of The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative. Who are we and what do we want to become ? Communication helps to unlock doors where we can begin to discover all of the wonders of human potential. We have the opportunity to discover our strengths and weaknesses. This prepares a well rounded foundation in which we can begin to build on. The Arts are the common denominator in which communication and discovery is achieved from.
4. Understanding
To understand is the ability to responsibly comprehend and assess information reasonably. We are then able to respond (response + ability) to the prescribed action. The C.reative, R.ecording & P.erforming A.rts bring excitement to our youth. They are very aware of the ENERGY! The Arts generates and it causes them to awaken, excites interest and stimulates activity. The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative’s target goal is to understand the nature of children and to take their energies and positively direct those energies into producing something beautiful with understanding; art & music.
5. Human Culture
The history of Mankind is found in the cultural artifacts of ancient societies. Art and music define human beings, making a record of our history and showing the reflection of who we are as a people and world citizens.
The reflection of who we are as humans, being...changes from generation to generation and from a world-wide perspective - continent to region. Identifying with multi-cultural experiences through artistic/creative & musical expression, helps us as human beings to have a broader understanding of one another, which brings about the discovery that we all have more things in common than our differences.
6. Purpose
Communication, Discovery, Understanding, Culture and Definition of Purpose are key elements in our mission statement because they all play vital roles in the operation(s) of The C.E.R.P.A.H. Initiative.

its sad when people associate being lucky w/ things like the lottery...
well thats the dream they sell you, and sometimes you sadly buy it
relationships have to go both ways, pushing and pulling on both ends
so to get lucky...
you're relying on hope, when there are no other factors in the problem other then you, so there is no push or pull on your end, thus you get a dream, and it will fall sooner then you received it
whats luck?
preperation meets oppurtunity

Lucky is standing on a rainy sidewalk in a crowd of people; a car drives past and splashes a huge wave of water up on the kerb. Everyone else cops it but you.
